Scapa 1927-2009

The factory was located on Cartmell Road in the Witten area of Blackburn. At the time of these images being taken in 2009, Scapa was owned by the Germany company Voith Fabrics Ltd after being sold by the Scapa Group.

In the same year, Voith Fabrics decide to close the Cartmell Road site after 82 years of making wet felts in the town and decide to move the whole production of paper machine clothing to Malaysia to save cost.
